Tipsters
Do you think you can profitably use tipsters to consistently win on the horses?
To answer that question you need to consider a few points:-
A check on Google lists 36,800 tipster sites on the web in Britain.
That is a phenomenal amount of so called ‘expert opinion’ hoping to extract some of your money for ‘hot’ tips!
There is bound to be a significant conflict of opinion with different horses being touted to win the same race. For confirmation of this fact, just look in the newspapers where their own tipsters will give different ‘winners’ for the same race.
Suppose you were in possession of inside information of a planned ‘high stakes gamble’ by a trainer on some minor race. Why would you want to broadcast that to the general public, knowing that would drive down the price available?
The reality of dealing with tipsters is that they are after your money and are quite prepared to sell you their opinions, dressed up as inside information, when they have no more idea of the race winner than you do.
There are a few tipsters who can show the occasional profit but they are very rare and even these stars will have the dreaded LLR (long losing run). Funny how their LLR always starts just after you have parted with your money to the tipster!
Most of the tipsters offer some sort of money back guarantee along the line
of “if you have not won £25,000 in the next 12 months we will refund
your money”
Now what they mean is the money you paid them for the information NOT the £1000’s
you lost backing the three legged horses they tipped! Then you have the problem
of actually getting your fees repaid, always supposing the tipster is still
operating under the same name!
The Racing Post has a list of tipsters performance results on its website and it makes for depressing reading. There are more sobering results available on www.tippingleague.co.uk, but at least you can find a few tipsters that are actually making a profit. (at present!).
