Be aware of the actual odds that you will select the winning horse, it is 1 divided by the number of runners, e.g. in a 10 horse race you have a 10% chance of picking the correct horse. What you actually receive is down to the bookmakers odds.
Forget about beating the bookie, he is providing a service and survives and profits by laying odds on each race that guarantee him a profit.
There might, just might, be a few tipsters out there that can sell you profitable
tips. The problem is you will spend a fortune on the scam artists before you
find one.
All of them will suffer from long losing runs that you have to pay for and it
is funny how often these losing runs start immediately you have joined them.
There are thousands of so called ‘systems’ out there. Again there might be a good one but you will have spent a fortune trying to find it. A point to ponder: if you had got the Holy Grail of a betting system that worked with horse racing would you be selling it for a few quid to other punters?
Horse racing is great for the casual small stakes punter who is looking for
the adrenalin rush of watching his chosen horse win by a neck but be aware of
the reality of horseracing if you intend punting some serious money.
